Irish Osteoporosis Society was interviewed on Dublin city FM radio
In January 2017, Michele O’Brien, CEO of the Irish Osteoporosis Society was interviewed on Dublin city FM radio, to highlight the importance of people checking to see if they have risk factors for Osteoporosis.
Michele attended the National Women’s Council AGM in the Mansion House Dublin.
Michele gave two talks at Old Bawn Community School to 5th and 6th year students as the school was promoting Bone health. The school was holding a healthy eating week and raised a significant amount of awareness at their event.
Michele gave a presentation on Osteoporosis to Castleknock Retirement Group in January.
In January 2017, a submission was sent into the Joint Committee on Health, requesting that Osteoporosis be made a priority on the Health service 5 year plan.
The IOS also informed this committee that Ireland is the only country in the EU that does not have a bone health strategy.
